Company History
Forth Steel was established in 1981 forming the original core of the Murray Metals Group of companies.
The company has grown and evolved through longstanding business relationships and its ability to adapt to an ever changing market and its demands has been instrumental in its success.
Originally based at Sciennes in Edinburgh, rapid expansion meant relocation to the Gyle Industrial Estate in 1986. Significant investment in 1998 saw the incorporation of multi head ESAB cutting beds. These were replaced and upgraded again in 2003 along with the integration of our triple head, infinitely rotating VBA machine for edge prepping.
Forth Steel’s sustained growth saw the introduction of our Hamilton plate stock facility in 2007. Substantial investment in stock levels has increased our supply potential across our product range. Further investment in 2007 and 2008 has seen a complete revamp of our fully interactive Technical suite thus improving our ability to process orders of varying complexity.
Growth and expansion coupled with continuous investment has resulted in the creation of one of the most modern and efficient steel plate profiling operations in the UK.
